Asiaworks was founded by Bo Li, a renowned New Zealand-based consultant specialising in Chinese culture and business practices. Bo Li has a track record of initiating and leading many significant marketing projects, which include the 2002 first Chinese candidate political election campaign, the 2008 New Zealand General Election Asian Enrolment campaign, the NZ Post lunar year stamp design and promotion started in 2009 for the Year of the Ox through to the year of the Rat, 2degrees Mobile Asian marketing, SKYCITY marketing campaign, Spark Asian market campaign, BMW Asian media campaign, and the New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival campaign.

Asiaworks is the agency that offers a one-stop-shop service to help New Zealand businesses maximise their Asian market share and raise awareness by overcoming cultural and language barriers through its expertise in communications. 

In recent years, Asiaworks has expanded its business into the TV and film industries. It assisted overseas TV and film crews in getting into New Zealand for filmmaking by offering employment visa applications, NOLs from the New Zealand film industry, and ground services.
